I’ve spent the last few days listening to as much music by composer John Field as I could find. And as much as I’ve enjoyed his work, I’m not here to talk about what I’ve heard. Today, I’m asking for your help.
John Field is a bit of a lesser known composer in the music world. Often considered the inventor of the nocturne, these compositions are often overshadowed by the more popular Frederic Chopin. As a result, there are less performances (and by extension, recordings) of John Field’s music.
I’ve made a list of all of pieces of I could not find audio or video of. If you happen to know of where we can listen to one of these pieces, please link it in the comments below.

Side note: I’ve found video of a few of the etudes on the YouTube channel of Dr. Paul Smith. These are certainly a good start. If possible, I’d like to find a copy with higher production quality (sorry Dr. Smith!).
I really enjoy all of the John Field pieces I’ve heard so far. I’m really looking forward to hearing the last little bit. In particular, I’m hopeful for the etudes, nocturnes, and the piece for 4 hands.
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!
